| Why…this Site? |
The basic idea of this website was created on Christmas Eve 2005. Doris and Werner (have a look at “about us” if you want to know more about us) were celebrating Christmas with their families. The children were looking forward to the distribution of Christmas presents like thousands of other children in the world.
We were touched by the expectation in our kids’ eyes shining in the candle light. After a fabulous Christmas dinner and the distribution of the presents the children were deeply sunken in their dream worlds of Barbie and other toys. The adults were chatting along.
Suddenly there was a heated controversy on how comfortable we live. Of course, we do not grudge our children and ourselves this convenient lifestyle, however, we were of the opinion that the distribution of wealth and welfare in this world is not fair. We came to the conclusion to take action and found a charity organization. And so it were the children’s eyes that inspired us to choose the name “Childs Oneworld Vision”.
Even though we don’t have to suffer from hunger ourselves, nor have we ever experienced such hunger, we are not that rich either. So we can’t feed the world. Therefore we were discussing for quite a while different ways of raising money. In the course of the discussion the idea was born to create a website and to gain sponsors for our idea.

| Why ... Homepage 100 years? |
The world wide web is definitely the fastest moving media in human history. Often the information on this media is outdated the very next day. Since the internet lives on the creativity and imagination of its producers we thought of something totally extraordinary.
Our idea is almost strange for this medium: we want to give it constancy.
It is our notion to give our sponsors the opportunity to present themselves on our homepage for a period of time of 100 years. You only have to pay a fee for the usage once.
Moreover, we hope that mankind – with united effort - will be able to defeat the hunger in this world within 100 years! |
